In 1930, the MacRobertson’s chocolate company (who also made Cherry Ripe) were looking to add a new product to their children’s range. Initial designs for a chocolate mouse were rejected, as it was felt that women and children were afraid of mice and would dislike the product. It was instead decided to produce a chocolate frog, branded as “Freddo Frog”. In 1967 MacRobertson’s were sold to Cadbury.
HOW I FELT is a series of 200 prints, each in a limited edition of 50.
All are hand-printed in Sydney using dye transfer on acoustic felt tiles.
I sign and number each print.
I love these felt tiles because they look and feel beautiful. As a bonus, they’re designed to absorb sound and improve a room’s acoustics.
L-pins ($10 for 4) or a hanging brace ($30) are a great way to hang my unframed prints on plaster or wooden walls. I recommend a wooden frame for brick or concrete walls. My frames are custom-built in Sydney using solid timber with natural grain. Each frame is $149. Please note that I do NOT include glass because the felt looks better naked. I can provide acrylic (not glass) and a sealed backing for $50 if the work will be hung in a moist environment like a beach house. Click here to add acrylic to your framed order.
