Bill and Ben

From $150

DESCRIPTION

Bill and Ben the Flower Pot Men was a beloved British puppet show made in the ’50s and shown on Australian TV throughout the ’60s. The show centred around two tiny men made of flower pots and their friend Little Weed, who were visited on occasion by Dan the Potato Man. The Flower Pot Men spoke in Oddle Poddle (“Flobabdob!”), a language invented by Peter Hawkins, who also voiced the Daleks on Dr Who. Like the toddler-style language of the Teletubbies, Oddle Poddle was later criticised by do-gooders for hindering children from learning proper English. The original Bill and Ben puppets now reside in the London Museum.
